Less than a week ago, my company, Well Versed Creative, launched its website. It’s a small milestone in a story of many larger ones.
It’s been a wild trip. In the past six months, we sold our house in Mexico and hauled 1,000 miles up the Baja to San Diego. We set up shop in our bungalow with our Macs, a houseplant, and some free furniture (thanks to awesome colleagues from my editing job at iGrad).
Emotionally, I’m exhausted – and thrilled: to be here, thrilled with the work I’m doing for my company and for iGrad, and thrilled that, compared with just one year ago, I’m a heckuva lot closer to where I dreamed I’d someday be– thanks to my own blood, sweat, and yes (I admit it!) tears.
That said, I hope you’ll forgive me this tiny plug. If you haven’t already, and you’re a fan of this blog, a fellow writer or artist, or a friend, please say hi on our Facebook page or through our site’s contact form.
I’m too tired to write anything even slightly original, except this: to everyone who has believed in me so far, and to everyone who has convinced me to believe in myself (a far more difficult task; special props to my Dad, who wrote me an incredible birthday email), I have no idea what to say except thank you. I owe all of you a cold one.

Lindsey, I don’t envy you the exhaustion .. I’ll probably be going through a much similar situation in a few years (although not from Mexico) moving and launching a full-time freelance career but I congratulate you on your success–Enjoy it!!
Thanks, Melissa. Any big move is challenging, geographic or otherwise. But I’ll tell you this: exhaustion doesn’t feel half bad when you’re doing what you love. Or, hell, at least like.
Postscript: I’ve been loving your Q&As. So insightful.
